Zinc oxide sunscreen may bring to mind a lifeguard’s white nose. And while it’s true that many mineral sunblocks leave behind a chalky white residue, manufacturers are getting better at ensuring formulas disappear against the skin while still offering ample protection against the sun’s harmful UV rays. According to hyperenthusiastic reviewers on Amazon, the best one is actually designed for babies: Thinkbaby Safe Sunscreen SPF 50+.

Thinkbaby is not only the top-selling mineral-based sunscreen on Amazon; it’s the best-selling facial sunscreen overall. Reviewers rave that the product lasts all day, is odorless, and never sweats off or feels greasy, and works just as well on adults as it does on kids. While users claim the product does initially rub on white, they report it disappears after a couple minutes. What’s more, many reviewers point out that Thinkbaby cooperates with eczema and rash-prone skin.

Like other mineral-based sunscreens, Thinkbaby is also free of avobenzone, oxybenzone, and UV chemical absorbers, and has consistently earned top marks from the Environmental Working Group. Most sunscreens on the market expose you to harmful active ingredients that have been linked to allergic reactions, hormone function disruption, and the deterioration of coral reefs.

Thinkbaby retails for about $11 on Amazon (you can also buy it at Target and Walgreens). And in case you were wondering: Yes, you have to coat your face and body with sunscreen every day to shield your skin from the sun. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer over the course of a lifetime, and it can be deadly. So slather it on!
