Removing the Rind

A quick trick to peeling melons

May 14, 2014

Peeling melons (and citrus fruits) is simple with a tiny trick: Turn the round surface into a flat one. Thoroughly wash melons before cutting.

1. Hold a melon steady on its side and slice off one end. Repeat on the other end.

2. Stand melon on a flat end. Run the knife down the side, on the inside of the rind, following the curve.

3. Once the rind is removed, slice the melon vertically and scoop out the seeds.

4. Slice your melon so it fits into a juicer, or dice it up for some tasty fruit salad.
