Mrs. Marshall’s Honey And Blue Cheese Plate

Wow your guests with this simple cheese and honey platter.

This is the simplest way to wow your guests at Rosh Hashanah, or at any other gathering. Serve this as either an appetizer or a dessert. Make individual servings, arranged on a platter surrounding a decorative hunk of comb and a wedge of cheese. Garnish with lavender flowers or a sprig of a seasonal herb.

  • Large chunk of hard or semi-soft cheese
  • 1-to-2-inch block of honeycomb or liquid honey
  • Crackers
  • Baguette slices
  • Apple slices
  • Pear slices (optional)



Place the wedge of cheese on a platter next to the honey. Surround the cheese and honey with crackers, bread, apples, and pears.

*Solve the problem of sticky fingers by having a small bowl of warm water with napkins on the table. Suggested cheeses: blue cheese, such as Stilton or Gorgonzola; Monterey Jack; Manchego; or sharp Cheddar.
