Beer Clams On The Barbie

  • 1/2 can 12-oz beer
  • 1/4 cup honey barbecue sauce
  • 3 dozen littleneck clams, scrubbed
  • juice of 1/2 lemon

1. Fire up the grill.


2. Dump the clams on a very large sheet of heavy-duty foil and drizzle with the lemon juice, barbecue sauce, and beer.

3. Fold the foil loosely over the clams, leaving room for the clams to open, and crimp the edges to seal.

4. Put the foil pack on the grill, cover, and grill for 15 minutes, until the clams open and the liquid in the foil is bubbling.

5. Discard any unopened clams.
