Who says wild rice needs be savory? Give this antioxidant-rich whole grain a much-needed sweet treatment by stuffing it into an apple. And since we’re already bending some rules here, why not give that stuffed apple a boozy bath? (If you don’t have rum or brandy on hand, apple cider will suit nicely.) The recipe easily scales up or down, depending on how many you’re serving or how much extra cooked rice you have—although leftovers are divine straight out of the fridge, if you make one too many. Both quick-cooking and regular wild rice work nicely in this recipe.
