Gourd Tea Lights

Step-by-step guide for making gourd tea lights.

August 27, 2013

Small fresh gourds can be turned into holders for tea lights. Choose a gourd that will be stable on a flat surface.

1. Using a candle carver—a tool designed to cut a tea light-size hole in fruits or vegetables—cut a shallow plug from the gourd.
2. If you don't have a candle carver, mark a circle slightly larger than the tea light on the top of the gourd and carefully cut the opening with a knife.
