The New American Burger

  • 1 organic egg
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped organic spinach
  • 1 pound grass-fed ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons shredded organic Cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole-wheat buns
  • 2 large organic tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced

1. In a large bowl, whisk the egg. Add the oats, onion, spinach, beef, and cheese and season with salt and pepper. Mix with your hands until well blended.


2. Form four patties. Place them on a grill and cook for 6 minutes on each side or to your desired level of doneness.

3. Place the burgers on buns and top with sliced tomato and avocado.
