Brat Attack

Choosing turkey bratwurst instead of pork creates a healthy version of the German classic.

  • 6 turkey bratwurst
  • 1 can (12 oz) beer
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin
  • 2 tablespoons coarse grain mustard
  • 2 cups fresh, homemade sauerkraut
  • 6 rolls




1. Place the bratwurst in a large pot and add the beer and onion slices. Simmer for approximately 20 minutes. Fire up the grill to medium-high heat and grill your brats for an additional 10 minutes.

2. Heat the sauerkraut separately in a saucepan.

3. Place a sausage in each split roll and serve with a generous topping of sauerkraut.
